The Big East 3D Challenge is our Saturday-afternoon 3D league, and it is the one that draws the most competitive crowd of the winter. Twenty 3D targets are set through the indoor range at known yardage — the distances are posted, so the league is a test of your shooting and your setup rather than your rangefinding.
Three classes keep it fair across very different equipment. Hunter class shoots to a 40-yard maximum, Scope class to 50 yards, and Recurve shooters to 25 yards. Each class is scored and paid separately, so a traditional shooter is never measured against a scoped target rig.
The payout is settled the same day. Every week the top five in each class shoot off, and with ten or more shooters in a class at least first and second place are paid. Your $25 shoot fee includes a $5 entry that goes out at 100%, and refreshments and door prizes are part of the evening.
Warm-up opens at 3:30pm and the shoot starts at 4:30pm. It runs most Saturdays from early January through March 21 — there is no shoot on January 24. Come a little early if you want the warm-up lanes; the first few Saturdays of the season tend to fill up.
